Q: Where in the world did you get the name SweatMonkey®?

Once it was decided that the organization was to be formed, and our vision statement was in place, we naturally needed a name. Our founder, Callahan Fore, who was sixteen years old in May of 2006, worked feverishly to think of something that would stick in the minds of his members. Callahan had always been called a "Monkey" by his father. He realized that "sweating the details" or "sweat equity" always involved effort of some type of collaborative effort on the part of the individuals who wanted to better themselves. Thus, the name SweatMonkey®!

Q: What does SweatMonkey® cost?

Nothing, zero, nada! SweatMonkey, Inc. is a registered 501-(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to student service. We want students, AND all organizations, to be members of our website. Our vision is to allow students to grow at their own pace. We want to create a venue where our members can find wholesome, educational benefits from the World Wide Web.

Q: Where does SweatMonkey® gets its funding?

SweatMonkey®, Inc. is currently funded by donations, charitable gifts, and grants. It is hoped that we will continue to earn the respect and trust of a wide range of partners who wish to see our continued success.

Q: Why does the member profile ask so many questions?

Our databases are designed to give you a very robust experience; provided you allow us to learn all we can about what defines you as a person. All elements of our questionnaire are designed to add value to a personal resume. If you choose not to answer questions, it will limit your experience and our ability to serve you. We don't want to be just the latest Internet chat website. Our desire is to be the number 1 website for student involvement.

Q: Do you share or sell your membership list?

Our privacy policy is second to none. We will NOT share any of your personal information with a third party. Furthermore, we will never ask you for information that would be considered highly personal such as a social security number or your home address. We consider this NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!

Q: When I enter my zip code, I can't find any jobs. Why is this?

SweatMonkey® was started by students in Polk County, Florida. It was only natural that we concentrated on our local relationship strengths to begin adding value to our site. Our website is zip code based and the student board of directors has been working to create a dynamic website that can be carried to any community. On the Monkey Business membership landing page we have created a link that you can follow to form a SweatMonkey® chapter in your school. Once formed, you and your board will be required to find jobs for students in your area. Check it out!
